Flying to Kuching (The Kuching downtown is about 10 km from the airport)
The most common routes to Kuching are to transit at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), and board a connecting flight over the South China Sea, namely
- AirAsia : KLIA2 / KLIA Terminal 2
- Batik Air : KLIA 1 / Terminal 1
- Malaysian Airline: KLIA 1 / Terminal 1
which takes about 1 hour 45 min. From Terminal 1 to 2, you may take airport bus or train, so allocate sufficient time for airport transfer.
There may be direct flight to Kuching from Guangzhou, Chongqing, and Shenzhen in China.
You may also easily fly to Singapore Changi Airport and from there connect to Kuching using SCOOT airline, which takes about 1 hour 25 min.
